About me

Hayley is a registered counsellor who completed her Master of Counselling with the University of Queensland. Prior to this, she graduated with a Bachelor in Psychology (hons) while living abroad in England.

Hayley is a compassionate, creative and playful person, while also being respectful and purposeful. Her focus is “being with,” whether through talking, creating art, using visual cards/boardgames or puppets, Hayley understands that each individual’s lived experience and ability to communicate their story is deeply unique and requires a trusting relationship as a foundation for growth. Her practice is grounded within a trauma-focused and strength-based lens, and draws from Art and Play based therapies, Attachment theory, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.

Hayley has supported and advocated for children, adolescents, parents and caregivers throughout her career and has a passion for the following areas:

  • Sexual abuse and assault (children and adolescence)

  • Supporting young people in residential care and foster homes

  • Trauma

  • Harmful sexual behaviours

  • Mindfulness-based interventions

  • Anxiety/Depression

  • Emotion regulation

  • Neurodivergence

  • Sexual health and age-appropriate behaviours

Hayley is also a trained Circle of Security facilitator, an innovative early intervention program designed to enhance attachment security between parents/care givers and their children.

My life away from therapeutic work consists of keeping up with my forever-energetic border collie, my two fluffy cats and three chickens, hiking and camping, and gardening   "
